I'm Alicia and I'm 33 years old. I lived in Oxford for 5 years and of 4 1/2 of them I was a stressed out manager and obese. In the final 6 months of living in Oxfordshire I started working with Ollie, took his nutritional advice seriously and as a result got some serious results. I am very, very pleased with where my hard work has gotten me. The thing is, you can be a hard worker but you need experts to help you channel your efforts in the right places. And thats where Ollie comes in. He is an expert in reducing body fat %, radicalising body composition and optimising nutrition for health and fat loss.

Since the age of 16 I have yo-yoed in weight around 7 significant times. I've done all the diets and also done all the fitness classes (sporadically and not at the same time). At the age of 33 I realised that this is it, I need to do it right this time as it needs to be a life-long change. I didn't know what right was, but Ollie did. And I know that now I will always be the right size for me, for the rest of my life.
How long did it take me? Well, I was a size 22 and 14 stone in March 2011 and now I am 10 stone 2 in October 2011 and a UK size 10/12. 6 months to change not just how I move, feel, look - but 6 months to become the person I'll be for the next however many years. I was very nervous about going to a personal trainer for the first time, but I did it. The best thing I've ever done. As an obese woman - going in to a weights room in a big commercial gym is the last thing you would do, but its not like that when you train with Ollie in Radley, Its a friendly environment where you can get on with training and not feel self conscious. He inspired me so much, that I am now training to be a personal trainer in my hometown of Glasgow. This change is on the outside, the inside and in everyone that you meet. I now want to help as many people as possible feel amazing. You can too if you suck it up and do what Ollie says!! He is the perfect balance of approachable and no-nonsense. So if you bring your determination, he'll fast-track you to success.

Steph came to me, as many do frustrated with her current program not giving her the results she wanted. Typically long distance cardio with a couple of weights machines thrown in. With a  change of diet and a radical change to her training she ended up feeling fantastic on her big day:

I've been training with Ollie for a few months now and I'm absolutely thrilled with my results. I came to Ollie in October 2010. As a very experienced and longtime gym user, I was looking for a very experienced personal trainer who could both teach me new things, and push me to achieve my goals. My aim was primarily to lose bodyfat which I have never been able to shift. 

From the outset of my communications with Ollie his experience, and the specificity of his program and his dietary advice were readily apparent. When we first met, Ollie took a huge range of measurements, and performed a range of functional tests, and diagnosed me with a particular problem with insulin, and carbs, and devised a custom diet around this. The training was exciting, varied and the results quickly began to show. In eight weeks I had dropped 8% bodyfat, and had to set new goals to achieve. I'm absolutely thrilled with my results to far, and am already leaner than I have ever been in my adult life. I am also fitter, stronger, and have more energy than I have ever had. I have continued to train with Ollie because I believe with him I can achieve my latest goals of getting below 10% bodyfat. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending Ollie to anyone to train with. He's far and away the best trainer I've ever met.

I have used OC fitness for over a year now and would recommend it to anyone. I use to play rugby at a competitive level however since stopping the rugby I put on a large amount of weight, I was still eating the large portions and only really focussing on large weight lifting sessions. I spoke to Ollie Campbell from OC Fitness and he arranged a couple of sessions with him to re-start my training. The first session focussed on what I wanted to gain from the training sessions as well as Ollie recording all of the measurements and information he needed to draw up a training plan. Ollie drew up a very achievable gym timetable and training plan for me focussing on my personal aims. The plan worked around my work times, which at times can be very constrictive on when I can use the gym, the main focus was on making sure I use my time in the gym most effectively and the training plan designed by Ollie allowed this. Ollie also looked at my diet and addressed the areas in which I could improve and informed me of better food choices and set meal plans for me to follow. Ollie was very polite and the one to one sessions have allowed me to lose weight as well as keeping a proportion of muscle. I would recommend OC fitness to people as going to the gym is one thing but getting the most from your sessions that’s where OC fitness helped me. Ollie also helped me with motivation making sure I stuck to the plan he was also on hand to answer any questions I had. With help from Ollie at OC Fitness I was able to lose 4 stone in weight and I’m still training with OC fitness to get the most from my gym sessions.

In June 2008, even though I was rowing regularly and training in the gym every day, I only seemed to be gaining weight. When I reached the heaviest weight I’ve ever been in my life, I knew I needed some professional advice on how to change this and what I was doing wrong. I also had a motorbike accident in the past, which left me with a lot of persistent back pain and difficulty. This accident was also the initial cause of the significant drop in my previously high level of fitness.

I’ve had a lot of difficulty trying to find a sports activity or training schedule to regain my level of original fitness, because my back was always restricting my movement so much and the duration I could train for. When I first found out about Ollie and went to meet him for a chat and have an assessment, I was very frustrated and embarrassed about myself and my weight. I was over 5 stone heavier than my original weight before my accident, which disgusted me. I also expected very little of this impulsive idea to find a personal trainer, because of the problems with my back which I assumed would end up restricting me again.

Ollie was very encouraging about my situation despite my weight gain and back problems, and put me at ease surprisingly quickly. I was reassured that he could create a training programme for me that would strengthen my back and regain my fitness, which would subsequently encourage the weight loss I so desperately wanted. He also advised me to keep a food diary of everything I ate over a 12 week period, whilst also having an hour long session after work with Ollie three times a week. This time scale was also my original plan for having my own personal trainer.
Much to my fascination, I discovered that most of my problems with my unexplained weight gain were being caused by not eating enough. I was in the routine of only eating a single cooked meal in the evening and drinking water throughout the day. So one of the biggest challenges Ollie gave me to begin with was a complete change in my diet, eating 5 times a day which was a huge struggle for me as I have never eaten that often before.

I have now been seeing Ollie for over 2 years (my 12 week plan was somewhat thrown out the window when I realised how valuable regular sessions with Ollie were for me). I’ve also lost over 4 and a half stone and my back is the strongest it’s ever been since my motorbike accident. I’ve even been running a few miles every week for almost a year now. Originally I couldn’t run 20 seconds before suffering severe back pain. With Ollie’s encouragement, I am even working towards the long-term goal of my first half marathon, which would be a huge achievement for me.

Ollie has become a significant part of my lifestyle and has also been a part of all the changes my life has been going through over the last two years. My time with Ollie has helped my confidence and my own self belief, that I really can improve and change myself if I work hard enough at it. I am also approaching my fifth stone in weight loss. I had originally planned to pace this goal over a four year period. But I have almost achieved this in half the time, something I would never have come close to without Ollie pushing and encouraging me every step of the way.

Even if you know a lot about training and physiology, chances are Ollie will know a bit more! Having worked with Ollie in a personal training capacity and being really impressed with the outcome I went back to him when devising some circuit training for the Magdalen College Boat Club women's rowing squad. The plan he came up with was geared to the level of athlete, was realistic in the time that it took and utilised the equipment we had available. The women were taught effective and safe techniques - and enjoyed it! The results speak for themselves. The MCBC women took "Head of the River" for the first time ever and we look forward to tapping into his expertise again this season.

Sarah Jones - 2009

Sarah was one of the most hardworking clients I’ve had, although shes down in Bath now we still keep in touch. I have the proud honour of being one of Ollie's biggest losers! Three stone in six months is incredible and I never would have been able to do it without his advice, guidance and bullying (in a good way). And all this despite the fact that I am not only a vegetarian but a Welsh one at that. I had been trying for years to build up the courage to go to the gym and had many false starts but I decided that enough was enough and I needed some help. I am so glad that I got in touch with Ollie, he started me off slowly with light exercises and not too much of anything (even though I still needed a lie down in a dark room afterwards) but by the end of six months I was doing a full hour of quite hard exercise, and enjoying it! I have gone from getting out of breathe doing 20 step ups to being able to do 100 squats (while moaning) ,15 minutes plus at high level on the rowing machine, cross trainer, cycle - take your pick - lifting weights and all sorts. And 45 minutes of spin class. Incredible. So I would fully recommend getting Ollie to help with the initial phase of any new health and fitness programme, if I hadn't left Oxford I would certainly still be seeing him 2/3 times per week. I am now putting what he taught me in to practice in another gym, it's amazing how much I have learnt in such a short period of time.


Adrian Lidington - 2010

I train for competitve rowing, and as a consequence, I do a lot of heavy work on and off the water. The 09/10 season was my most strenuous so far, and after one particular session I was really stiff, which made me shorten my stroke in water session the following day.In order to avoid this happening in the race that weekend, I booked a sports massage session with Emily. I am very pleased to say, that the results put me back on form. I was much more relaxed in my shoulders and back; this allowed me to flow out comfortably to full length in the boat. Well worth the time and money.

Victor Jones - 2010

When Victor came to me he was a stressed Oxford undergraduate, by the time he took his exams with the help of some massage therapy from Em our sports therapist he was sleeping better and felt great walking into the most important exams of his life so far. I found Ollie in my last year at uni. I hadn’t done any sport since coming up and wanted to get into better shape before my final exams, and I thought that a personal trainer would help me stay on track.

I was afraid of how difficult I might find it at first so Ollie started me off gently, but with his encouragement I quickly gained confidence. Soon I settled into coming in 3 times a week, mainly working with weights, but also training to increase stamina and balance. I noticed results quickly – within a few weeks I was doing an hour of work that would have had me throwing up when I first started. I was constantly surprised by how much more I managed to achieve with Ollie than by myself; he managed to keep me going long after I would normally have given up.

From the first time I met Ollie I was very impressed by his professionalism. He was full of advice for improving my nutrition, and always at the end of the phone whenever I needed help. He is also very committed to professional development – I don’t think I’ve met another trainer who takes such effort to improve his knowledge and service.

Ollie got me the results I wanted – by the time exams came around I was feeling much fitter and healthier, as well as losing weight. If I hadn’t had to leave Oxford I would definitely still be going at least 3 times a week with him, and would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Christopher Kuner - 2009

Christopher works for a major international law firm and was only in Oxford a few months so we had to maximise his time to the max! He often stays in hotels and is travelling so needed something he could do anywhere in the world. I had a great experience using Ollie as personal trainer in the summer of 2009. He designed a fitness program that allowed me to make substantial progress; for example, I went from not being able to lift the weight bar 15 times, to being able to lift nearly 50 kilos. He helped me with various kinds of exercises, including weights, stretching, cardio-vascular, and using bands. He was always very responsive and helpful, and I can recommend him to anyone looking to get into shape.

When I asked Annette to write me a testimonial I really wasn’t prepared for this!“What’s great about training with Ollie?…….everything is! When I first met Ollie I had been training on my own in a gym for about 2 years. My routine had become very standard (same exercises, same order, same length of time) and I was no longer achieving the results I had done initially. Most of all I was bored and no longer enjoying myself. Training was just a chore.

From our first discussion when Ollie told me ‘I’m not just training you when we have our sessions, I’m training you the rest of the week as well’ I felt that he was really committed to helping me to move forward and to ensuring that I achieved my goals.

My programme included cardio to improve my heart health and reduce my risk of CHD. We also did resistance work with bands and other objects to keep me interested and give me something new to try, this really helped with toning my ‘bingo wings’! But the best thing was that I never needed to think about what exercises I would be doing or why. Ollie took all that pressure away from me and so every exercise was a surprise and most of what we did was new and different from what I had been doing before. We tried things I never would have attempted on my own and most of all Ollie made sure I was always having fun even though I was working hard. The sessions seemed to fly by! Ollie explained everything fully and gave me a lot of support in making sure my technique was correct to get the maximum benefit and remove the risk of injury. He was always happy to answer all my questions and I learnt a lot more about the science of training than I had known before. Ollie also kept to his promise of supporting me in the training I was doing outside our sessions with advice on how to build up cardio sessions and with great practical nutritional tips. I was using what he taught me and what slimming world had taught me combining the 2 was really effective.

I achieved my goals for the sessions in terms of weight loss and reduction in body fat percentage and that was great. I also found, as a result of the core stability and flexibility work, that I could again do exercises that I had thought were for people lots younger than me. Best of all I recovered my motivation for training and am carrying on achieving progress towards a new set of goals. Like Ollie says ‘Always evolve, always improve, never give up”

Gavin Bothwell - 2007

I trained with Ollie for a little over 4 months and in that time saw a marked improvement in my strength, stamina, and general level of fitness. My goal was to get in shape for a 15Km run and after the training I ended up taking 5 minutes off my personal best time. In addition to working on running, Ollie also ensured that I focused on all the other major muscle groups with exercises ranging from boxing to core conditioning on a stability ball. He always provided encouragement during the training and was able to extract the last ounce of effort from me which definitely paid off.

Kim Davies - Newbury

My name is Kim Davies. I am 44 yrs old and married with 2 children aged 9 and 5. I came to see Ollie 12 weeks ago when I was feeling really down about my body and fed up with not being able to get into my jeans etc. I’d put on weight with both my children and I’d never really lost it. After meeting Ollie for the first time it felt the right time for my journey to fitness to begin.

The first time I came to the gym and met Ollie I’d never been to the gym before and was quite scared! He put me at ease and I soon got the hang of the equipment. Now I come 3 times a week and love it.
12 weeks ago I was 11stone 13lbs and my body fat was 37.7%, I have lost a stone and my body fat is 33.7%. I am well on my way to 10 stone and body fat of 30%.

The training I have done with Ollie has improved my cardio fitness, working my core muscles and improved my stability. It had also been great fun and my confidence has improved so much, it has changed my life. I’ve got more up and go now and I’m much happier in myself ( this is also great for my family). I am so pleased with my results and will keep on going until I reach my goal, and will never go back to my old life.

Dawn Slater - 2007

I worked with Ollie for the first twelve weeks of this year. My goal is to lose two stone in weight over twelve months, and I knew I would need a personal trainer to keep focused. I trained with Ollie just once a week for the first twelve weeks, but I did go to the gym and do the exercises he asked me to do as well. I lost 9lbs in this time, and 8.3% bodyfat which was pretty impressive. I have changed my diet and made the changes permanent. My colleagues at work noticed that I seemed happier in myself as well, and the weight loss is now quite noticeable. I am joining Ollie in his new venture because I am happy to keep training with someone who has helped me get this far. If you want to achieve goals like this then using a personal trainer certainly makes you continue your training in between times because you know he is going to check you out each week!
